About 2 years ago I was working on the next release of Crochet Charts. A series of events starting with my main development computer getting ruined, and ending with me having to change my work life and focus on just 1 full time job has left me without the time I would like to have to work on projects like Crochet Charts. However I feel responsible to those of you who have purchased the software, encouraged, and helped me, and I really didn't want to leave the project without a future.
Since last year I've been looking for a way to make sure the project would continue, so I was very happy to receive a message from Professor Lamotte, back in December, stating that he would like to work with me to make Crochet Charts an open source project. I'm very pleased to finally be able to announce that Crochet Charts is an open source project, and that there will be additional releases in the future. I've been in contact with Olivier (the student who is working on the software) he seems very capable, and I believe he will be a good steward of the project.
As an open source project all future releases will be free. Community members who have programming experience can contribute to the project, helping to make it a better. But most importantly the project belongs to the crochet community.
Again thank you for all of your support and encouragement over the years. I enjoyed working with you,
